The extreme weather conditions of the last 2 weeks have severely impacted the UK’s transport infrastructure and all UK businesses involved in the despatch and delivery of packets and parcels. Parcelforce Worldwide collections, processing and deliveries have also been affected.
We’ve been working around the clock to collect and deliver as many items as possible, including working through evenings and weekends wherever we can. However, the additional snow and ice over the weekend and forecast for the remainder of this week has further impacted this transport infrastructure and therefore our ability to operate services across the country (PDF 47 KB). In these conditions the safety of our customers and employees is being combined with a very strong determination to deliver the parcels for our customers.
We will continue to do everything possible to deliver items already in the Parcelforce Worldwide network and those despatched prior to our recommended last send by dates in time for Christmas but this will be on a best endeavours basis. The conditions in areas where the weather has been most severe may prevent us from collecting or delivering as planned. As a result we will have to suspend all delivery guarantees and all adhoc collections until after Christmas
The most up to date information about our services in affected areas is available on the Service Update page on our website at http://www.parcelforce.com and we encourage all customers to check here first.
]]>“Weather conditions have worsened overnight particularly in Northern Ireland, Northern Scotland, Wales and South West England. The forecast is also predicting snow for many other parts of the country over the weekend. With the exception of Northern Ireland we do have all drivers delivering today as well as Saturday and Sunday, as we are endeavouring to deliver as many parcels as possible.”
