Details

256GB 2.5-inch SSD Solid State Disk from KingSpec with PATA/IDE interface. Built using MLC Flash chips, and offering read speeds up to 80MB/sec and with write speeds up to 40MB/sec.

Computer connection is the IDE 44-pin interface, making this SSD compatible with notebook and netbook computers using 2.5-inch IDE hard drives.

The KingSpec PATA/IDE SSD Solid State Disk is enclosed in a strong steel case for added durability and reliability.

This SSD is pre-tested in the following systems but is also suitable for use in many other systems. We recommend checking with the manufacturer prior to purchase:

Upgrading a Titanium Powermac hdd.

I've waited about eleven weeks before posting this review to give the drive a chance to be used enough and it's still working perfectly. After my Titanium PowerMac DVI drive died I was looking around for a replacement, doing the usual research I found mixed reviews about the Kingspec but for the price well worth a try considering the rarity of replacing the same laptop and it was a simple case of changing over the drives, nice that it comes in its own case and just screw in the original rubber 'feet'. Needing to do a fresh install of OSX Tiger the drive was recognised straight away and has been working silently ever since and I am very grateful to have been able to breathe life back into my treasured Titanium laptop with grahics software I use for personal design projects.
